At HDW, our policies ensure that every dancer and family enjoys a positive, organized, and professional experience. Please review carefully so that we can keep our studio community running smoothly.

Registration at Houston Dance Works

  • The registration fee is $35 per student or $55 per family.

  • Families who register for our summer session will have the fall/spring registration fee waived.

Awards Dance Contest

Tuition at Houston Dance Works

  • Tuition is divided into nine equal installments for the season (August–May).

  • The first installment is due at registration. The remaining eight installments are due on the 1st of each month.

  • Tuition is the same each month and does not change for holidays or absences.

  • Students enrolling mid-season will receive a prorated first installment (second installment if enrolled online) to ensure fairness.

  • Payments can be made online through our parent portal or by check (please include your dancer’s name and what the payment covers).

Late Payments

  • Tuition not paid by the 3rd of the month will be charged a $10 late fee.

  • Tuition not paid by the 15th will result in the dancer being unable to attend class until the balance is cleared.

  • Accounts unpaid at the end of the month will be dropped from enrollment. Re-enrollment requires payment of a new registration fee.

Returned Checks

  • Returned checks carry a $30 service charge and must be repaid in cash or money order.

Dress Code: For Class

Missed Classes at Houston Dance Works

  • Regular attendance is key to your dancer’s progress. Please notify us if you will be absent.

  • Makeup classes may be arranged in another class of the same level (based on availability). No special makeup sessions will be scheduled.

  • We recommend missing no more than two classes per semester.

Withdrawal Policy at Houston Dance Works

  • Withdrawal from any class requires notice to the office by the 26th of the month prior to withdrawal to avoid being charged the next month’s tuition.

  • Example: If you plan to withdraw in November, notify us by October 26th.

  • Enrollment will be terminated if a dancer misses four consecutive classes without notice.

  • Summer session tuition is paid in one installment and is non-refundable.

Studio Guidelines & Expectations

  1. Arrive five minutes early for class.

  3. No gum, food, or drink in studios (water bottles only).
  4. Be respectful and courteous to instructors and peers.
  5. Running is not permitted. Tap shoes must be worn carefully.
  6. Only instructors may allow entry into the dance rooms.
  7. Parents of dancers under 4 should be near the classroom at dismissal.
  8. Parents are responsible for supervising their child at all HDW community events.
  9. Please ensure your dancer uses the restroom before class.
  10. HDW expects all dancers and families to uphold a positive, respectful environment.
  11. Gossip, negative talk, or disrespect toward staff, dancers, or other families will not be tolerated.
  12. Concerns should be directed to the HDW office, not through other parents or students.
  13. Enrollment grants HDW permission to use photos and videos of dancers in class, recital, and events for promotional purposes. Families who wish to opt out must submit a written request to the office.
  14. No refunds or credits will be issued for weather-related cancellations. Makeup opportunities may be offered when possible.
  15. For safety, dancers must remain with instructors until released to a parent/guardian.
  16. Parking lot safety: Please drive slowly and supervise siblings at all times.

The Houston Dance Works does not cover medical insurance for its students. Students must be carried by their own families’ insurance policies. If an injury occurs, the parents and guardians understand that your policy is your only source of reimbursement.

HDW’s policies are in place to protect our dancers, our families, and the supportive community we’ve built since 2011. By following them, we ensure that Houston Dance Works remains a place where kids belong, families stay, and champions are made.
