About Us

Who We Are

At Houston Dance Works, dance is more than steps — it’s where children grow in confidence, resilience, and community.

Since 2011, our mission has been to empower children and teens to achieve their personal best—on stage, in the studio, and in life—through high-quality dance education built on strong fundamentals, creative expression, and a culture that instills resilience and the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to. Parents experience the joy of watching their child grow into both a stronger dancer and a stronger person.

Our vision is to be Houston’s dance home — a place where children grow up learning more than dances. At HDW, dancers discover belonging and the confidence to take on life’s challenges. One day, we hope every child who passes through our doors will look back and say, “That’s where I found my confidence.”

We are guided by our Core Values:

  • Confidence Through Growth – success is about courage and resilience, not perfection.
  • Community First – families belong here, supported by respect and joy.
  • Love of Learning – there’s always more to discover at every level.
  • Strong Foundations – quality training and fundamentals build artistry and strength.
  • Balance Beyond Dance – we develop whole people, not just dancers.

And at the heart of it all is our faculty — mentors who bring these values to life every single day.

Meet our Amazing Team!

At Houston Dance Works, our faculty brings the perfect balance of professional experience and passion for teaching. From national champions to commercial performers, advanced-degreed educators to homegrown HDW alumni, our team is united by one goal: helping dancers grow in skill, confidence, and character. With decades of combined experience on stage and in the studio, our teachers are more than instructors — they’re mentors who inspire the next generation of artists.

Autumn Rosemond

Autumn Rosemond is the founder and Artistic Director of Houston Dance Works, now celebrating her 15th year of studio ownership. Under her leadership, HDW has grown into a standout in Houston’s dance community, home to dancers who have earned multiple national titles while also building lifelong confidence, community, and balance.

Autumn’s training spans ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, clogging, tap, pointe, and drill team. She began her early studies at Marsha Woody Academy and Debbie’s Dance Etc., where she also competed on Debbie’s team and started teaching dance while still in high school. During those years, she earned numerous awards, performed at professional football halftime shows, and was recognized with scholarships from national dance conventions.

As a teacher and choreographer, Autumn has led her dancers to top overall placements at regional and national competitions, including multiple national champion titles. She has been recognized with choreography awards in jazz and musical theater and has served as a judge for competitions, auditions, and pageants. Her continuous professional development included training in Los Angeles and New York City at world-renowned studios, as well as performing as a principal artist with Second Generation Contemporary Dance Company in leading roles locally and nationally.

In addition to her artistic career, Autumn brings strong business and leadership expertise. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas State University and a Master’s in Business from Syracuse University. For the first six years of HDW’s existence, she successfully balanced her career in data analytics and consulting with studio ownership — showing the perseverance it takes to build a studio from the ground up.

Autumn’s impact extends beyond the studio. She was honored as one of the Houston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” and as a “30 Under 40” by The Leader newspaper, and she currently serves on the Board of Advisors for San Jacinto College’s Dance Instruction Program, helping to shape the future of dance education in Houston.

A proud local resident, Autumn lives with her husband and three children. She believes dance is a training ground for life — where confidence, discipline, and kindness grow together. Her vision for HDW’s next chapter is to ensure dancers never have to choose between belonging and growth. From their first steps to championship stages, she’s shaping a studio where great training and great culture coexist — and where dancers become strong performers and good people, grounded, capable, and ready for anything.
