HDW Tumbling is built with the same structure, care, and high standards as all Houston Dance Works programs. Classes are organized by age and developmental stage, allowing each athlete to build strength, coordination, and skills through clear, progressive pathways.
All classes incorporate foundational gymnastics elements to support safe, confident tumbling development.
PROGRAM PATHWAY
Preschool Tumbling Prep
Ages 3–4
An introduction to tumbling through coordination, balance, and early skill development in a structured and encouraging environment. Students build body awareness and confidence as they prepare for more formal tumbling instruction.
Tumbling Foundations I
Ages 4–5
Focused on building strength, coordination, and foundational tumbling skills through age-appropriate progressions. Students develop body awareness and proper technique as they begin learning basic tumbling skills.
Tumbling Foundations II
Ages 6–8
Builds on foundational skills with a focus on strength, flexibility, and proper technique. Students begin connecting and advancing tumbling skills while developing control, consistency, and confidence.
Progressive Tumbling
Ages 8+
For athletes ready to refine technique and progress into more advanced tumbling skills with increased strength, control, and independence.
Accelerated Tumbling
For HDW Accelerated Dance Students Only
This class is designed to support the technical development of dancers in the HDW Accelerated program. Training focuses on strength, control, and tumbling skills aligned with choreography and performance demands.
